Weekly Horoscope July 26

this week is potent and intense! it seems like those words accurately sum up most of 2010 so far and definitely the next month of outer planet transits, and this week is no exception. on monday saturn opposes uranus for the 5th and final time, but for the first time in the signs of libra and aries. the pitting of the old versus the new, status quo versus change, commitment and stability versus change and rebellion is in full effect this week! shifts in how we relate to the Sacred Feminine and the Sacred Masculine abound. with uranus in aries there is an awakening of the warrior, will, drive, passion, assertiveness and anger, while saturn in libra is restructuring relationships, helping us define boundaries and teaching us the fine art of give and take in connections with others. then on thursday mars moves into libra, on friday mars opposes uranus and on saturday mars cojoins saturn. when any of the inner/personal planets transit the outer planets they tend to energetically activate the outer planet configurations- in this case it’s the grand cardinal cross planets of jupiter, saturn, uranus and pluto that are getting a major dose of the warrior energy. where ever aries and libra are in your chart there is a redressing of balances going on.

it’s a week full of karmic processing and opportunities to communicate Truth and be in integrity in our committed relationships (personal and professional)! last week’s kick off to the summer of astrology was intense- and many things have likely erupted in your life. this week we have the opportunity to deal with them- and when it comes to the karmic south node getting to the root of things is the only way to deal with them once and for all. we each have opportunities to do some deep Soul work this week- be in your Truth, shine your Light and confront the demons that held you back from moving forward.

aries- week of 6/28-7/4

with a jam-packed 2nd house the focus for you this week in all communication and karmic processing is around money and self-worth, and how anything involving the former most certainly has a connection to the latter. with the south node there you are being asked to really look at how you manage your money- and how emotions and codependency can at times play into the decisions you make when it comes to money. on the deeper level anything happening in the money department is reflective of the underlying foundation of self-worth. honestly looking at how your self-worth is influenced by your ability to take care of other people’s emotional and financial problems- at times to the detriment of yourself- requires a deeper look at why your self-worth may be tied up with a need to give, nurture and take care of others at your own expense. cancer is the sign of the Divine Mother and at times can be a martyr- so looking to see where your selfless actions are actually not serving you is important. any stuff around money or self-worth that is unresolved can rear it’s ugly head this week- and it’s an opportunity to deal with it and clear it out. this can arise in committed relationships and contractual agreements you have with others- being sure there is an equal balance and that parental patterns of someone playing mommy or daddy and the other playing child (in adult relationships) are not playing out are key. when you realize your own worth comes not from what you give- but from who you are- you will find the safety and security you seek. and you will also be able to see very clearly those who value you for what you give rather than who you are and you can give them the boot.

Weekly Horoscope May 3

this week has a lot of activity- too much to include in one written horoscope (it would be a couple pages long!) so i am focusing on the hot spots.  to see the more detailed aspects read my weekly astrology blog which talks about every major aspect that occurs during the week.  the hot spot this week is mars!  mars has been in leo for over 6 months now!  mars entered leo in mid-october of last year and then stationed retrograde in late december for just under 3 months.  typically mars speeds through a sign in approximately 6 weeks, but because of his recent retrograde his stay in leo stretches over 7 1/2 months!  mars is the warrior and the Divine Masculine.  in leo he is firey, willful, self-focused, passionate and at times egotistic.  mars retrograde has required that we each confront our relationship to the masculine, our will, ego, and desire nature.  now that mars is direct we are integrating our inward journey of reflection and taking action!  this week mars is very active.  on tuesday the sun and mars square each other- creating tension between the conscious self and ego and the will and drive.  these two very yang energies go head to head and sparks can fly!  learning to temper the ego and warrior so that outbursts you regret don’t happen is key.  throughout the week mars tensely aspects saturn, the north node, uranus and pluto (in that order) creating a need for major shifts when it comes to ego, will and drive.  discipline, consciousness, awakening and transformation are the order of the week!  on friday mars aligns with his beloved venus, creating an ability to bridge masculine and feminine and effect a healing of any perceived split between the two (in yourself, with others, in the world!).  mars is getting worked over and under- but at the end of the week his reward is a connection with the heart (venus).

Solar Eclipse in Capricorn 1/14/10

solar eclipse in capricorn 1/14/10 at 11:11pm PST

we are in the eclipse portal as i write. can you feel it? the eclipse portal began on new year’s eve day when the lunar eclipse in cancer occurred and from that point until this thursday at 11:11pm PST when the solar eclipse in capricorn occurs we are in something akin to a wormhole. a wormhole is a shortcut through time and space. it takes us from where we have been and moves us quite quickly to where we need to be, and the ride from point A to point B can be quite intense! lunar eclipses are about endings- endings of old ways of being, old patterns, old paradigms, old relationships, old ways of understanding the world. to have a lunar eclipse fall on new year’s eve was a pretty potent way to end 2009 with a bang! what occurred that day was an indicator of both what you were ready to leave behind as well as what you were preparing yourself to embrace with arms wide open. the two weeks from the lunar eclipse to the solar eclipse is the clearing out period. it’s the time to really truly align yourself with what you know is your destiny. a lot of people i know, including myself, have been going through intense purging experiences during this eclipse portal/wormhole. i know at least a dozen people who have had intestinal issues- mostly parasites- which is a symbolic expression of what needs to be detoxed and released within. and i know another dozen or so who have had massive colds, nausea and dizzy spells- all indicators of clearing, purging, flushing out and realigning with the new energy permeating our consciousness. much like the eclipses of june/july last summer (2009)- this eclipse portal is turning people’s lives upside down and getting them back on track, or alternatively getting them onto a whole new track that is more appropriate for their soul’s growth.

so where are you at in the midst of all this intensity and change? are you seeing the light at the end of the tunnel? are you able to appreciate the darkness you had to move through in order to get to the light? ‘both light and shadow are the dance of Love’ (rumi). right now we are in the dark of the moon leading up to the solar eclipse, so things may get a little darker before the light comes, but it’s all a part of the Universal plan. much like neo in the matrix after he gets his eyes burned off, we need to learn to see in the dark with different senses. we all have this capacity but it is usually not until something intense happens and we are forced to access them that they come to life. we have a lot of astrology that is supporting this kind of growth and capacity- so see your struggles for what they are- opportunities to expand your consciousness and empower yourself!

as for this solar eclipse occurring on thursday january 14th at 11:11pm PST (how’s that for synchronistic symbolism!?), looking at the eclipse chart can illuminate what this powerful lunation is about. and let me tell you- it’s really, really powerful AND positive! 

a solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the sun and earth, so that the sun is fully or partially covered. this particular solar eclipse is an annular eclipse of the sun- meaning that a narrow ring of the sun will be visible beyond the dark mask of the moon. the eclipse’s annular phase will last for 11 minutes- making it a pretty long and potent eclipse! visibility will be across africa, the indian ocean, india, sri lanka, and southeast asia. in america we won’t be able to see it but we certainly will be able to feel it!

solar eclipses occur when the sun and moon are at the same degree in a sign. it’s essentially a potent new moon. new moons are about beginnings, initiations and the start of something new in that particular moon cycle. with an eclipse we have the effects stretching out to last 6 months. what is begun now is foundational (thanks to the sign capricorn) and is something that can be built upon for years to come. so make sure your structures are sound and integritous! all capricorn themes are highlighted right now- commitment, ambition, hard work, security, practicality, reality, perseverance, tradition, structure, discipline and focus. with saturn, the ruler of capricorn, stationing retrograde the day before the eclipse (occurring on wednesday the 13th) a lot of this earthy, grounded energy is going to be channeled into the inner realms. anything you want to create and solidify externally MUST be anchored to something solid internally. if your internal experience is a mess, then the outer will follow suit. taking time to meditate on what we want to put into motion that will go the distance while the moon is dark is ideal the next few days.

the sun and moon conjunction aspect several planets- each of which add color to this eclipse and impact how we will experience it. first of all venus, the goddess of Love and beauty, is conjunct the sun and moon by less than a degree! on monday of this week (the 11th) the sun, venus and north node each took turns connecting with each other, initiating massive new beginnings in regards to love, relationship, money, self-worth, commitment, goals and ambitions. the things begun this week will have a feeling of being destined and fated. to the ego it may seem like it is not in control, but if you remember that your higher Self is the one who is steering the boat and you align with It then your ego will be in sync with your higher Self and what is normally felt as something happening to you will then be experienced as something you are making happen with venus added to this powerful lunation we have the grace and ease of the Goddess/Divine Feminine governing our new beginnings. when initiating new things at this time it would be most helpful if you sink into the heart to find your answers, rather than rely on your mind. of course it’s all about balance, but most people are too much in the mind so focusing on the heart when venus is involved is a good idea ;)

Weekly Horoscope April 12

this week is chock full of activity- even though most of the aspects are labelled as ‘minor’.  as i mentioned on my weekly astrology blog- you be the judge!  just because something is smaller doesn’t mean it cannot pack a punch!  especially when it involves the outer planets- uranus, neptune, pluto and chiron.  the week is bookended by venus triggering the saturn/pluto square- with saturn at the start of the week and pluto at the end of the week.  last week it was mercury (the mind) getting rebooted and this week it’s the heart.  relationships are tested- with others and more importantly with your Self.  where you are tethered to the past and just not willing to let go- you will feel the heat this week!

restructuring, transformation and/or dissolution of partnerships, commitments and foundations upon which we’ve built our life are the name of the game.  on monday saturn quincunxes chiron pitting the lord of karma against the wounded healer and activating issues around our responsibilities to others that may go against our responsibilities to ourSelves.  chiron is that point in the chart where you feel wounding around being who you are because it wasn’t/isn’t well received by others in your life.  finding a balance between your commitments to others and your commitment to your own path is key.  one of the big transits of the week occurs on tuesday when uranus semisextiles neptune- both of whom are in mutual reception (uranus is in pisces which neptune rules, neptune is in aquarius which uranus rules).  the great awakener aligns with the great illuminator.  this is a spiritually expansive aspect that can light up the Self and create major inner and outer shifts that may not be obvious at first but will certainly manifest over time.

uranus is sudden but neptune is subtle- so expect a little bit of both ;)  the new moon in aries occurs on wednesday- igniting the house it falls in our chart and helping us to start new things with a passion and fire that is raring to go!  check the new moon blog (posted by monday night) for more info on this lunation.  one other significant occurrence this week is the massive activity with juno- the goddess of commitment and marriage.  she is activated by neptune, uranus, saturn, chiron and the nodes!  and then she moves out of taurus and into gemini.  commitments in our lives are up for massive review.  some will be invigorated or renewed, some will become very apparent that they need to end.  realizing what commitments in our lives- personal and professional- support our path of growth and consciousness and which ones do not is very important right now.  we have a lot of astrology that supports change and shifts of conscoiusness- but if you stubbornly hold onto the past or refuse to budge you will create a lot more drama for yourself in the long run.  if you find yourself in a rushing river it always behooves you to go with the flow and enjoy the ride rather than try to swim upstream.  remember that your higher Self is the one running the show.  on some level You orchestrated all this for a reason.  if you can find the reason and it is easier to flow with the currents of life.
