Heal and Energize with Chakra Colors
Diseases are said to be associated with your Chakra system via the dysfunction of a specific Chakra(s). Every Chakra has a color associated with it, and it is this color which may be needed to be nourished in the treatment program for your specific disease. To give you an example, for my thyroid issues, the color Blue, which is affiliated with the organs of the 5th Chakra, including the thyroid, is used to cauterize wounds in spiritual surgery. The color brings peace, truth, and quiet order, helps you speak the truth, increases sensitivity, strengthens the inner teacher.
Color is essential to health. It is a manifestation of a higher frequency that exists beyond the physical world ~ a manifestation of the divine. It is a electromagnetic wave that vibrates perpendicular to it’s path of movement. We all need colors in our auric fields. If you are clearly attuned, you will find yourself attracted to the color you specifically need.
I will provide you with a color chart below to explain the general effect of that color. Keep in mind, however, that if you have a particular aversion due to a painful past experience with that color of which you have an unpleasant reminder…you do not have to use that color right away, until you are ready.
Our energy fields are directly related to our relationship with these colors. For example, if your 1st and 2nd chakras (red and orange), are under-energized, you may feel a dampened energy emotionally, physically and sexually. In this case, you would need the color red to enhance your energy field for your emotional and physical health. Also to keep in mind, wearing the colors that you need, in this case red (and orange), may make you feel uncomfortable at first because you are struggling with these issues. But for you to really get in touch with yourself, and to heal, you have to be willing to be honest with yourself and willing to feel those feelings, to work through them.
Chakra 1: RED. Lower part of the body; adrenals; tailbone.
Chakra 2: ORANGE. Lower pelvis, sex organs, immune system.
Chakra 3: YELLOW. Solar plexus area, stomach, spleen, liver, pancreas, kidneys
Chakra 4: GREEN. Heart area, circulatory system
Chakra 5: BLUE. Throat, lungs, ears
Chakra 6: INDIGO. Eyes, head, lower brain
Chakra 7: WHITE. Upper brain, eyes
RED charges, protects and shields. It increases your connection to the earth; gives strength to life-force. Multiples Sclerosis patients need red and orange because the first and second chakras are most affected.
Maroon brings passion and will together.
Pink brings soft, yielding love for others.
Peach brings expanding light spirit.
ORANGE charges your sexual energy and enhances your immune system and ambition.
YELLOW provides more mental clarity, gives a sense of appropriateness.
GREEN give your balance and fullness.
BLUE brings peace, truth, and quiet order. Increases your sensitivity, helps you speak your truth, strengthens inner teacher. Blue also calms someone with ADD or ADHD, so you might consider painting a room this color.
Dark Blue brings a strong sense of purpose.
INDIGO helps you connect to the spiritual life, opens perception, brings the feeling of ecstasy.
Purple helps you move into spirituality and brings a sense of royalty, leadership and respect.
Lavender clears and purges invading micro-organisms, brings a lighthearted attitude toward life.
WHITE brings spiritual expansion and connection to others on the spiritual level; gives outward flow of energy; reduces pain, reduces pain. Purity.
Gold enhances the higher mind, brings a sense of great power; helps you connect to God and to the spiritual strength in you. Strengthen any part of the body. Cancer patients are said to need Gold, as cancer has a torn-open aura on the seventh level, which is gold.
Silver is very strong at purging microorganisms, used directly after lavender in cleaning out debris. It is used to cauterize wounds in spiritual surgery.
Platinum is even stronger than silver light, it also clears and purges invading microorganisms.
Brown is associated with a rich connection to the earth and grounding.
Black helps you stay centered and brings complete peace, waiting to be born into manifestation, brings you into Grace, deal with death, good to heal bones.
Sending you rainbows of light and color.
Spirituality and Protection
More and more people are opening themselves up to the spiritual awakening that is surrounding us now. There are more New Age Stores opening with offers of healing stones, oracle card decks, crystals and healing jewelry, among many other offerings. Yoga centers are on just about every street now in New York City. All of the different schools of Yoga are spread across the city, so one must be aware of the plethora of choices out there, so that you can find the one that suits you best. There are also educational classes to take which teach you a myriad of ways to reach your bliss by awaking your awareness to the divine spirit in yourself and otherwise. Some of these are Shamanism; Munay-Ki Rites; Meditation circles; New Moon Ceremonies; Reiki Healing; Energy Healing, just to name a few.
Some of the spiritual things I enjoy, or partake, are Munay-Ki; Reiki; Healing Oracle Cards; Chakra Healing; Meditation (on my own); and collecting stones (beach and healing). While I have done Yoga, I am nowhere near a “Yogi”. Hatha yoga is something I intend to re-explore.
As we become more spiritual and our energies are raised to a vibrational level that is higher than usual, where more light energy is given to us, we must remember to protect ourselves. So what am I protecting myself from, you may be wondering? Well, if you have not already experienced the lower energies from other people that may become either more apparent to you, or that are coming from you, let me give you a brief overview.
You may soon find it easier to feel the energies of others, even if some of those energies are not so friendly towards you. You yourself, might start to feel that “since you are more evolved than others, you are better than them”; you may appear arrogant and full of ego; or you may turn to self-doubt, filled with fear and blame.
This is where you must be very careful to be aware of the negative energy pull, and to not fall into it’s trap. No one is better than anyone else. There will always be someone who will do something better than you and there will always be something you can do better than someone else. This negative energy is not of the light, it does not raise your vibrations. It’s intentions are to separate people. Not to bring them together.
As you continue to work towards your spiritual enlightenment and your light frequencies are raised higher, you have to catch yourself if and when your ego starts to slip into the drivers seat! Humility is in the co-creative surrender to being divine and human.
How do we protect ourselves from these lower energies? Some of you may already have a protection prayer and intention prayer that you already are using. Some of you may be using meditation as the way to communicate with the divine, asking for help and/or protection. I myself, work with Archangel Michael for guidance and protection and to raise my vibration. Archangel Michael is the powerful angel who provides protection. He is nondenominational. His name means “He who is like God”. When I encounter a negative energy or catch myself with a negative feeling, I say to myself, “Archangel Michael: please stay by my side and watch over me during (blank)/or when (blank), ensuring that only God’s love and wisdom come through” or “Archangel Michael: please help me feel safe and deserving of your guidance. Thank you for clearing me of heavy, toxic or ego-based thoughts or feelings.”
As you become more spiritual and highly attuned, and your new or old wounds are being healed, Ego and Arrogance will rear it’s head in the beginning. But just remember, they have no place being here in the new peace and calm and enlightenment you are creating for yourself and for the world.
When you find yourself in a negative place, catch yourself and put into practice a form of protection that works for you.
When you are awakened in the middle of the night, the God Force-Divine is calling you to be and listen. The middle of the night is sacred and quiet in your neighborhood and on the earth. It is the perfect time to listen.
Awakening between 2-4 or so in the morning, is something people have gone through for millennium. The forces of the divine are knocking at your door to be heard, it is their timing, not yours. For some reason people think that when your sleep is interrupted that there is a problem that must be corrected or worried about.
Instead, when you are awakened let all of that go, meditate and pray, and connect to your divine self and be open to communication. You will go back to sleep and rest easily once you have done this. My prayer is: “Dear Archangel Michael, please allow me to understand this dream/situation on a spiritual level and give me guidance, thank you.”
Create a space of calm by breathing to quiet your mind and open your heart. State your intentions for your sacred communion with the divine force. Ask for the highest source energy to be with you and let go of any lower forces. Staying positive and present is important. Release any negative self-talk and be still.
It’s OK to ask for help to be more happy and healthy. Each one of us deserves to be fully who we are. Being free of interference in emotion, body and mind allows us to be loved and of service on the planet. Many people think it is humble not to ask for help. Instead, it is ego and arrogance that interferes with your communication. The purpose of the divine forces-angels, guides and guardians, is to help us ascend to higher ways of being in our human form.
Be in a place of gratitude and receiving-open to new levels of love, light and information to assist you on your journey. Continue to let go of ego, fear, anger and whatever limits your mind and heart to open to your highest opportunity to connect and grow in spirit and love.
Our feeling perception, our intuition, is important to trust in everyday life, as well as meditation and spiritual connection. Any negative, demeaning, controlling thoughts or feelings are to be released and moved through by bringing in the forces of the divine for assistance.
Sending you love and light on your way to love and bliss.

What is the Tao Te Ching?
Tao means “the path” or “the way.” It is a universal principle that underlies everything from the creation of galaxies to the interaction of human beings. The workings of Tao are vast and often beyond human logic. In order to understand Tao, reasoning alone will not suffice. One must also apply intuition.
In Derek Lin’s study of Tao, his source material is Tao Te Ching (pronounced “Dao De Jing”) by the ancient sage Laozi, a.k.a. Lao Tzu. Lao Tzu’s writing is divided into two parts: Tao Ching (chapters 1 to 37) and Te Ching (chapters 38 to 81). Together, they form the Tao Te Ching.
“When one studies the Tao, he says, you are not following any one particular person. What you follow is, The Tao. Listen to your sacred intuition, your inner voice and decide for yourself if it makes sense to you.”
Some of Lao Tzu’s most significant teachings are as follows: (please keep in mind that while most people think that Lao Tzu founded The Tao 2,500 years ago, this ancient tradition actually called “The Tao, began 2,300 years before Lao Tzu’s time!
“Non-contention. Lao Tzu noted that violence and conflict, no matter how tightly controlled, could not help but cause negative side effects. The Tao ideal is to solve problems through peaceful means.
Non-action. The foolish expend a great deal of energy and time trying to do everything and end up achieving nothing. On the other end of the spectrum, the truly wise don’t seem to do much at all and yet achieve whatever they want. This magic is possible, indeed unavoidable, when one is in tune with the Tao and acts without attachments.
Non-intention. So often we perform virtuous deeds hoping to receive praise or recognition. That’s no virtue at all. True virtue is a state where such actions flow forth naturally, requiring no conscious effort or thought.
Simplicity. The basis for our reality and our existence is elemental and uncomplicated. Human beings create a lot of trouble for themselves by making everything more complex than they need to be. If we learn to simplify our lives, we can experience a profound satisfaction that is infinitely more meaningful than the rewards of the material world.
Wisdom. Logic has its place in human affairs but isn’t everything. There is a limit to what we can understand through rationality and reasoning. To transcend that limit, we need to engage our intuition fully. This is the key to insights as opposed to knowledge, and the difference between living the Tao and reading all about it.
Humility. The more you learn, the more you realize there’s still so much more to learn. This tends to make you humble. Arrogance and egotism come from ignorance - knowing a little bit and assuming you know a lot.
Duality. Lao Tzu pointed out that all qualities in the world possess meaning only by the existence of their opposites. Something can only be big if there is something else that is small by comparison. “Good” exists in the world so long as “evil” exists as well. One cannot do without the other.”
The Way is Tao
True faith
is to serve and to endure
without the hope of
personal gain.
To walk
with the Tao
is to live beyond merit.
Finding your Bliss - The Alchemist
The inspirational book (fable) called The Alchemist, by Brazilian author and translator Paulo Coelho has been a runaway bestseller for over 20 years. The charming tale of Santiago, a shepherd boy, who dreams of seeing the world, is compelling in its own right, but gains resonance through the many lessons Santiago learns during his adventures. He journeys from Spain to Morocco in search of worldly success, and eventually to Egypt, where a fateful encounter with an alchemist brings him at last to self-understanding and spiritual enlightenment. The story has the charm, dramatic tension and psychological intensity of a fairy tale, but it’s full of specific wisdom as well, about becoming self-empowered, overcoming depression, and believing in dreams. The cumulative effect is like hearing a wonderful bedtime story from an inspirational psychiatrist.
All of us need to be aware of our personal calling. The reason why we are here on earth. Whenever you do something that fills you with bliss and fulfills your dreams.
What is standing in your way of finding your bliss?
It is fairly well known that some of the exact same obstacles for each one of us, may in fact be the cause of our not reaching these dreams.
1) We are told during childhood and onward that we can’t have everything we want/do everything we wish to. Our dreams become buried inside of us, filling us with guilt or fear perhaps for even desiring them.
2) Next comes our fear of hurting those we love. What would happen if we decided to go within and find our bliss? What if it would require abandoning everything that we are doing now and going after something entirely different? Would we be rejected by those we love? We need to turn this thought process around and realize that those you love will support you and love you no matter what you decide. Most importantly, they want you to find your bliss!
3) Next of course, is our fear of failure in our pursuit of our dream. What if I fail? Here is where you must realize that it is not supposed to be an easy road. That is why we are here on earth. To live it, to experience all of it, successes, failures and all. It’s your dream, no one else’s. You can’t learn if you haven’t any defeats to overcome. Besides, your endeavor has never been done before, has it?! Believe in yourself, and like the children’s book “The Little Train the Could”, say to yourself over and over “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can..”
You might be asking yourself, “why do I want to find my bliss when I’m just comfortable the way I am? Then I don’t have to go through all of this suffering to to get there!?”
The answer to that is when you find your bliss you will have such a wonderful sense of euphoria; happiness and a zest for life that you had never felt imaginable. You will be filled with a different sense of confidence and fulfillment than before. One that feels as if you are now living the miracle of life.
4) Surprised there is a fourth obstacle? This is the most important obstacle that you pay attention to once you have reached your dream. Hold on to it! A lot of people start to lose their dream here, back away from their bliss, because of feelings of guilt. “I don’t deserve this”. Remind yourself of everything you went through to get there, all of the hardships you endured. You are not being selfish by being happy, by living a blissful life. You are living as you were intended and you are helping make the world a better place!
So I ask you, what are your dreams and desires? Have you found your bliss? If you are starting to wonder now, a good start would be to read The Alchemist, and of course, the Find Bliss website (www.findbliss.com). You can also find us on Facebook and Twitter.
Blessings and light on your path to finding your bliss. It is out there for each and every one of you. Feel free to write in if you have a story to share.
The Cracked Jar
An Indian legend tells of a man who carried water to his village every day, in two large jars tied to the ends of a wooden pole, which he balanced on his back.
One of the jars was older than the other, and had some small cracks; every time the man covered the distance to his house, half of the water was lost.
For two years, the man made the same journey. The younger jar was always very proud of its performance, safe in the knowledge that it was up to the mission it had been made for, while the other jar was mortified with shame at only fulfilling half of its allotted task, even though it knew that those cracks were the result of many years hard work.
It was so ashamed that one day, while the man got ready to fetch water from the well, it decided to speak to him:
– I want to apologize, but because of the many years of service, you are only able to deliver half of my load, and quench half of the thirst which awaits you at your home.
The man smiled, and said:
– When we return, observe carefully the path.
And so it did. And the jar noticed that, on its side, many flowers and plants grew.
– See how nature is more lovely on your side? – commented the man. – I always knew you were cracked, and decided to make use of this fact. I planted flowers and vegetables, and you have always watered them. I have picked many roses to decorate my house with, I have fed my children with lettuce, cabbage and onions. If you were not as you are, how could I have done that?
“All of us, at some point, grow old and start to acquire other qualities. We can always make the most of each one of these new qualities and obtain a good result.”

Dance Like Nobody Is Watching
We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren’t old enough and we’ll be more content when they are. After that we’re frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage. We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice vacation, when we retire.
The truth is, there’s no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when?
Your life will always be filled with challenges. It’s best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway. Alfred D Souza said, “For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.”
This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. So, treasure every moment that you have. And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time … and remember that time waits for no one…
So stop waiting until you finish school, until you go back to school, until you lose ten pounds, until you gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get married, until you get divorced, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until fall, until winter, until you are off welfare, until the first or fifteenth, until your song comes on, until you’ve had a drink, until you’ve sobered up, until you die, until you are born again to decide that there is no better time than right now to be happy…
Happiness is a journey, not a destination.
Work like you don’t need money,
Love like you’ve never been hurt,
And dance like no one’s watching.

Air (Birds, feathers) Animal Totems
If an air animal totem (or totems) is catching your attention, you should feel very heartened by their presence. Allow their spirit to lift and touch your soul and be reminded, that you can Find Bliss within this present moment. Air animals are good omens, and their appearance is like a wink from God.
Air Animal Totems assist us in matters of higher knowledge. Air being the most ethereal of elements, it’s understandable that the creatures who inhabit it are able to lend the best understanding of its invisible ways. Also being closest to the heavens, air animals are our best allies as they herald our desires to the very gods in the skies.
Air animal totems are known to be symbols of both physical and mental strength, with the utmost power and authority. With the myriad of shifts and transitions we are all experiencing in our lives and in the world, these are indeed some very important traits.
Here is a list of some of the air animal totems:
Bats; Black Birds; Blue Jay; Cardinal; Dove; Dream Bird; Eagle; Falcon; Feather; Finch; Goose; Hummingbird; Owl; Peacock; Pheasant; Raven; Robin; Rooster; Sparrow; Swan; Turkey; Vulture; Wings (Angel wings; wings in dreams; wings on mythical creatures); Woodpecker; and the Wren.
I happen to frequent a few air animal totems (I also frequent the dragonfly, but that is considered an “insect totem” and is covered under a whole other topic)! My air animal totems are the Eagle; Feathers; Owl;and Wings. All of which I see very frequently and at the most random times. Sometimes surprising me, startlingly so. The Eagle has, quite a number of times, swooped down and up in front of my car quite suddenly, or is seen when in its largest form just flying along side of me. I hear the Owl at night when in the Country or when traveling; Pegasus (the Mythical greek horse with wings) will always just find it’s way to me, either when out shopping or reading; Angels and Feathers seem to be my lifeline right now. I cannot go one day without either becoming part of my day, and I love both. Whether at the beach or in the City, bird feathers will appear at my feet - be they 1 foot or less than 1 inch.
As the Eagle may be a totem for quite a few, I’d like to give you a sense of what this Totem stands for. This will hopefully prompt you to do some searching on your own, to take some quiet time outside in nature, and see who your air animal totems may be!
Remember, your “animal” totem may not be an “air” totem. It could be an insect, land, or water totem!
The Eagle Totem:
“Size does matter to the Native mind. It is the mammoth size of the eagle that, in part, wins its title as the King of the Birds in myth and lore. In spite of its enormous size, the eagle still takes flight, seemingly effortlessly. This is the first of many symbolic cues from the eagle about perception (not judging a book by its cover) and, not allowing the illusion of limitation to ground us in our flight.
What else matters when considering symbolic eagle meaning? Here are a few attributes and keywords associated with Eagle Medicine: Protection; Freedom; Determination; Power; Inspiration.
Native wisdom also honors the eagle for their opportunistic ways. It’s not that they’re not skilled hunters (they are), but they go about gaining their needs in ways that are most efficient. This is a lesson for conserving resources. Work smarter, not harder.
Some Native Americans (plains tribes) refer to the eagle as an earthly incarnation of the great Thunderbird spirit. Legend further states that lightning bolts shoot from the eyes of the bald eagle, and with the beating of its expansive wings, rain is conjured from the skies. That’s easy to envision.
Coming from the mindset that all energy is interconnected, an average wingspan of 5-7 feet (in golden and bald eagles) could understandably cause some massive energetic ripples in the cosmos. Even prompt rain. And, we see from the Native mind that eagle feathers are tribal tools resonating patterns of healing within ritual. Do a little research into Native wisdom, and you will find the eagle is invoked for revitalization, creation and healing purposes.
In this vein of thought, we can contemplate the healing messages the eagle may offer us in our daily life. When the eagle soars into our psychic vision, it may be a sign of getting prepared for symbolic cleansing rains. What needs cleaning in our lives?
Of course, as rulers of the sky, eagle meaning is connected with the air element, which symbolizes communication and thought. All bird totems speak to us about higher thinking, dreams, and mental liberation. As king of the birds, the eagle’s message of mental acuity is super-dominant. Visually, everything about the eagle’s appearance is sharp. Streamlined, sleek, chiseled. This prompts our deeper minds to hone our thoughts and skills. The eagle commands us to tailor our intelligence and talents in a form that best suits our needs. We all have inner abilities, but when the eagle shows up - it’s a clear sign it’s time to use these abilities in a laser-like fashion to bring about focused change in our lives.
With the Thunderbird association, eagles are said to bring down lightning with the storms. Think of flashes of insight, surges of power - electrifying vision. Look into the eyes of the eagle - see the lightning - see the sun itself living in those all-seeing bright yellow orbs. Do these observations strike a chord with you?
If so, take flight with the eagle meaning by experimenting with these visualizations:
Contemplate the power cased in the heart of the eagle.
Synchronize your own heart beat with that of the eagle’s - visualize each pulse as a flash of lighting - an impulse of divine thought.
Picture the power of the gods clapping like thunder with each flap of their wings. With each crack of thunder consider barriers and blockages in your life being shattered.
Then see the great 7 foot wingspan of the eagle growing even longer in your vision in order to swipe away the rubble - making all trace of limitation disappear.
Look into the eyes of the eagle, and see the dawning sun shine clarity upon the dawning of your own awareness. These eyes are like a light into your own contemplative vision - let them illuminate your from the inside out.”
“Alchemy symbolic eagle meaning:
A representation of prime matter, the start of an alchemical operation. The eagle spreads its wings over the step into creation and fans the fire, encouraging growth of new matter.
Aztec and Mayan meaning of eagle:
The eagle carries the veil of night and dark over our existence and awareness. It’s affiliated with the dawning sun, and is a magnificent celestial power, able to shine light into our world.
Celtic animal symbolism of eagle:
Associated with the symbolism of water, and the intuitive oracle water serves as. Perhaps because our Celtic kin observed their magnificent ability to see into waters with miraculous clarity. Like scrying. I like to think the Celts skimmed across the waters of their existence invoked the eagle for assistance in “diving in” for treasures of wisdom.
Christian eagle meaning:
Associated with the Christ himself. Because the eagle seems to easily ascend the skies, looking into the sun with unblinking focus, we relate symbolism of Christ’s unblinking faith in the Way, the Truth, and the Light. We also see themes of renewal (baptism) as the eagle plunges the soul of man into the sea, and lifts them out renewed and cleansed.
Greek meaning:
Another reference as a solar animal, the eagle is symbolic of authority, rulership and virility. It’s depicted with thunderbolts in each talon. This seems like a phallic reference would bolster sexual energy as well as warrior status (energy, thrust, courage, bravery, fearlessness). I get a confirmation of this by Zeus’s strong affiliation with the eagle in myth.”

What is Reiki?
I have practiced Reiki as both a client and a (trainee) practitioner. As a client, in need of relaxation to promote healing of recent surgery and a weak immune system, I lay (or is it “laid” grammar girls?) on a table on my back (fully clothed - in shorts and a t-shirt); as 4 practitioners took their places around my body. One at my root Chakra; one at my crown Chakra; one practitioner was at my adrenals; and the fourth (I forget). Crystals were used that corresponded with the low energy centers that needed lifting; they were placed on my body near the end of the healing session. During the Reiki, some of the practitioners placed their hands above (within an inch - about) the area they “felt” in need of higher energy. Two of the practitioners placed their hands actually on my body, this was on my adrenals and my crown Chakra. I could physically feel the positive higher energy force being forced inside of me and the lower being forced out. I saw the beautiful color indigo blue throughout the session; a deep calm was felt; and afterwards I felt very peaceful. It is important to keep up your healing, however way you choose to do it. You will find a path to staying well.
When practicing Reiki, it is important that you practice methods so that you do not ‘take in’ the others’ energy; and that you ’shake off’ their energy at the end. All of this you will learn during a class. When laying your hands over a person in need of healing, you can actually feel their energy. You can feel where it is high and you can feel where the energy is low and is in need of a higher flow. It is amazing and I recommend both aspects of Reiki to anyone looking to explore this healing technique.
“Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an “attunement” given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of “life force energy” to improve one’s health and enhance the quality of life.
Its use is not dependent on one’s intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.
While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it.
While Reiki is not a religion, it is still important to live and act in a way that promotes harmony with others.
In order for the Reiki healing energies to have lasting results, the client must accept responsibility for her or his healing and take an active part in it. Therefore, the Usui system of Reiki is more than the use of the Reiki energy. It must also include an active commitment to improve oneself in order for it to be a complete system. The ideals are both guidelines for living a gracious life and virtues worthy of practice for their inherent value.
The secret art of inviting happiness

Just for today, do not anger
Do not worry and be filled with gratitude

Journal Writing
“You’ve probably heard the saying, “the truth will set you free,” but did you ever wonder why? Or how? If you’ve read Deborah King’s first book, ‘Truth Heals’, you already have a pretty good idea.
Whenever life gets too tough, too threatening – when we experience an emotional or physical trauma of some kind – we may feel we “can’t handle the truth” and so we try to deny it. We send the truth – the facts about what is happening, as well as what we think and feel about it – underground, burying it deep inside us, where we think we don’t have to deal with it. Then we might distract ourselves with something less scary, or even overwrite the facts with lies that are easier to cope with.
Well, if you’ve read ‘Truth Heals’, you also know that this “out of sight, out of mind,” deny-and-dissociate strategy doesn’t work, at least not for long. That’s because the truth is a mighty force, a powerful energy that is and always will be. Like everything else in our universe, it exists in physical reality even if we can’t see it with our eyes. Therefore, it can’t just be wished away, any more than gravity can. Dealing with the truth in a healthy way requires processing it. The energy needs to be moved out of the body and released.
If this doesn’t happen – if the truth about what happened to us and what we think and feel about it is not acknowledged and spoken by the conscious mind – it will eventually pop back up, like a beach ball under water, grabbing our attention in some unpredictable ways. Emotional pain, abusive relationships, financial problems, accidents, health scares and conditions, stress symptoms of all kinds – under almost any disturbance is a truth waiting to be set free.
Deborah discovered this reality when, at age 25, she wound up with cancer. She’d already had plenty of other warning signs and wake-up calls – drug and alcohol addictions, promiscuity, an eating disorder – but she didn’t pay heed. Cancer finally got her attention. When it did, she sincerely wanted to heal.
To her surprise, one of the simplest tools she found in her search for healing – writing in a personal journal – turned out to be one of the most powerful. Journal writing gave voice (expression and movement) to her truth of an extremely traumatic childhood wrought with sexual and emotional abuse. Journaling gave the benefit of processing out that old toxic energy that was stored inside her and had been wreaking such havoc on her life. Giving voice to it ultimately led her to become cancer free, addiction free, and to let go of all the other lies she had been living.”
Deborah’s book, ‘Truth Heals’, is set up into seven (7) chapters. Each Chapter represents each of the seven major Chakras, in the human energy system. For each Chakra, Deborah will discuss the specific emotional, physical and characteristics of each center. She also will share with you her own painful personal journey. Several well known people also share their journey in the book as well. It is a terrific read. As Deborah says so well..”May the truth set you free!”
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS)
One million adults and adolescents suffer from what is known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) in the U.S. (otherwise known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) in the U.K). But everyone can get really tired, right? How do you know if you have it and what is it, exactly? For starters, the fatigue you would experience with ME/CFS (as I refer to the illness), is simply crushing. You are unable to perform any (or most all of) your normal everyday activities. This would include being able to take a shower or even brush your teeth. Your body has lost all of its energy. You feel like “Gumby”, that animated green, clay, “humanoid” character from that long-ago television show. However, the fatigue or exhaustion (whatever one decides best describes their agony); comes with a host of other physical symptoms that happen along with this fatigue. Painful swollen glands and a sore throat may come along for the ride, or you may get lucky and they bypass you, only to suffer severe headaches and muscle aches instead. Or perhaps you are one of those that is affected by digestion problems and will suffer diarrhea. Either way, your fatigue will not go away just by simply resting. Oh no, not so lucky. Rest alone does not relieve the fatigue. In fact, excessive exertion of any kind, whether physical (exercise) or mental (paying the bills), will actually make your exhaustion worse. If you love to exercise and think you need to just get out there and run it off, be careful. If you have ME/CFS, your symptoms will only worsen.
Have I painted a gloomy picture? Not even close yet.
ME/CFS destroys your immune system. People with documented ME/CFS have a myriad of objective laboratory markers that doctors who specialize in the illness use to make a clinical diagnosis. This is where your next question is ever impatient. What Causes it? Well, no one knows. “They”, the scientists, researchers and the best of the doctors who care enough to stay with these patients, are getting closer to figuring that out. Maybe. Currently, the latest research is that a retrovirus, unlinked to that of AIDS, but similar in action, could be the cause. It’s called “XMRV”. It’s actually related to the retrovirus found in men with prostate cancer. Most (but not all), patients have the following (active or latent) abnormalities in their blood: Epstein Bar Virus; Human Herpes Virus - 6 (HHV-6); HHV-6A; 37kDa Rnase-L factor (enzyme deficient); enteroviruses in the gastrointestinal system (that cause polio and coxsackie illnesses), among others. Your “helper” T-cells (your immune system) are very low and you may have a very low white blood cell count (wbc) (therein goes your virus and bacteria “eating” protections cells); your overall IgG immunity panel is most probably also severely low. Feel vulnerable yet? Without an effective immune system, you are now prone to bacterial infections more than viral. This is because the viral system of the person with ME/CFS is so up-regulated. While you may not catch the common cold, you may get Parvo B-19 (a common childhood illness); mycoplasma pneumonia; or chlamydia pneumonia and the like. Worse, your heart will become infected and you will suffer myocarditis.
I take you back to the beginning. How do I know if I have ME/CFS and if I do, how is it treated? Great question. ME/CFS is still of “unknown origin and there is no known cure”. So basically, the physicians who best treat this illness, should specialize in it. You will probably come down with either mononucleosis or a terrible flu-like illness and you will not recover from it. You will remain so ill that you go to the doctor and start complaining symptom by symptom. Hopefully, if you do have ME/CFS, you will have read this, so that when the doctor says to you, “there’s nothing wrong with you, it’s just a virus”, or “you just need to relax, here’s the name of a shrink”, you can educate your doctor on this illness and hopefully, your doctor will do some further testing and questioning with you. Treatments work a lot better if you are diagnosed timely. Anti-virals; clinical trials; vitamin drips; prescription and non-prescription medicines; massage therapy; eating a lot of fruit and vegetables; drinking a lot of water; pace your activities, including an exercise plan; among many other modalities. Although there are treatments for this illness, they are symptomatic. Until such time that a complete cause is named, a complete treatment plan (cure) will never be in effect. This illness can last from a few months to a few years to a lifetime.
Most important of all in the healing process, of any illness, is to maintain a positive outlook on your health. Keep your thoughts positive and yourself happy. If you are not spiritual, I would recommend you take some quiet time within to find what gives you solace. Build upon that. You may find it grow into something even bigger and grander. If you are spiritual, you have a leg up. Get more so. The sky is the limit, as they say. It’s for the taking. Go for the sun, reach up high.
This article that I have written is not intended for anyone to become concerned that they may have this illness. Remember, it’s not about being “just a little tired”, and it’s not about being depressed either.
There are several websites for further information about the symptoms and causes and treatments for ME/CFS, but a good start is CFIDS.ORG. Knowledge is powerful. Always.
If you need me, I’m here. Feel free to write in. Sending you lots of love and light.
